Florida State University is excited to offer an online curriculum for a Professional Certification in Trauma & Resilience: Level One.

 

Did you know that two of every three people have experienced trauma that may impact them personally and professionally? 

The curriculum enables professionals to develop the knowledge and skills to better understand the impact of adult and child trauma, along with the keys to resilience. Participants will learn crucial information to improve service delivery to clients, students, human services recipients, patients, and other members of the public.

This self-paced curriculum includes 20 hours of course content and ten chapters of research-based readings, case scenarios, multi-media materials, assignments, and quizzes.

Continuing Education Units

Participants must report their certificate to their licensure board to receive credit. We do not report to the licensure boards.

Participants outside of Florida must self-report to their own licensing board to determine the credit awarded.

In-Service Training

K-12 Teachers and School Counselors and School Social Workers

  • This course has been approved for 20 in-service hours for Leon County’s Public School teachers and school counselors.

Participants outside of Leon County must contact their school district to determine credit awarded.

Waiver Support Coordinators
  • The Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities will grant 20 in-service training hours to Waiver Support Coordinators who earn Professional Certification. Please keep a copy of your Certification as proof of your training.

Continuing Legal Education Credits:

Florida Lawyers
Continuing Legal Education credit has been approved as follows: 

  • CLE Credits
    • General: 24.0
    • Mental Illness: 5.0
    • Ethics: 2.5

Florida Bar members can report their CLE credit online through the Member Portal. The course number required to report credits is provided upon successfully completing the training. 

North Carolina Lawyers

  • This course has been approved as a Continuing Legal Education activity by the North Carolina State Bar. Any North Carolina attorney attending will receive 15.00 hour(s) of CLE credit, of which 6.00 hour(s) will be available to satisfy the substance abuse/mental health awareness requirement, 2.00 hour(s) will be available to satisfy the professional responsibility/ethics requirement, and 7.00 hour(s) will be available to satisfy the general requirement.
Continuing Judicial Education Credits:

Judges
The Office of the State Courts Administrator of the Florida Supreme Court has approved a total of ten (10) Continuing Judicial Education (CJE) units, of which four (4) are Ethics, to judges and magistrates in Florida.

Florida Board of Clinical Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy and Mental Health Counseling

  • Continuing Education Unit (CEU) programs are planned in accordance with meeting the criteria set forth and approved for licensure renewal as outlined in the Florida Statutes and by Chapter 491 Licensure Board. This workshop is approved for and offers 20 contact hours for Social Work.

Florida Board of Nursing

  • Continuing Education Unit (CEU) programs are planned in accordance with meeting the criteria set forth and approved for licensure renewal as outlined in the Florida Statutes and by Chapter 464 Licensure Board. This workshop is approved for and offers 20 contact hours for Nursing.

Florida Board of Respiratory Care

  • Continuing Education Unit (CEU) programs are planned in accordance with meeting the criteria set forth and approved for licensure renewal as outlined in the Florida Statutes and by Chapter 468 Licensure Board. This workshop is approved for and offers 20 contact hours for Respiratory Therapy.

Florida Board of Dentistry

  • Continuing Education Unit (CEU) programs are planned in accordance with meeting the criteria set forth and approved for licensure renewal as outlined in the Florida Statutes and by Chapter 466 Licensure Board. This workshop is approved for and offers 20 contact hours for Dentistry.
